Spirit contains the blueprint for our existence and purpose
SPIRIT is the source of the Mind and the Body. If the body is a metaphor of the
mind, Mind is a metaphor of the spirit, and spirit is a metaphor and expression
of the Divine, the ultimate source of the Universe, and the Universe itself. The
universe is-and contains-everything, both the manifest, or physical, and the unmanifested,
or non-physical. The non-physical is the source of the physical. Modern (quantum)
physics has demonstrated that subatomic quanta (waves) are non-physical-they have
no dimension whatsoever-and yet, in their mysterious dance of creativity they cause
physical existence. [1]
The entire universe may be thought of as consciousness or awareness; it is made
of consciousness and it is conscious. Everything has consciousness and everything
is conscious. Consciousness is the awareness and ability to perceive and to respond
to contact, connection or communication. Every cell in your body has consciousness,
and the atomic and subatomic energies that comprise these cells, link them meaningfully
together, and link us indivisibly to the universe all have consciousness. Consciousness
and Mind may be thought of as synonyms; it is possible that all life shares and
is unified in one undivided mind.
The mind is consciousness in the form of a will (an intention) that is positive
in direction and both purposeful and orderly in development or unfolding. All life
is guided and ordered by Consciousness, or Mind, which many people consider to be
divine. Some call Consciousness the Mind of God. One of our greatest needs and deepest
urges as humans is to find or discover the positive purpose and meaning in our existence
and to evolve spiritually.
Spiritual evolution may be the entire purpose of physical
existence.
Just as our DNA contains the blueprint for our physical existence, Spirit contains
the blueprint for our existence and our purpose on all levels, including physical
life and our relationship with the divine source. Spirit encompasses all of our
possibilities, our physical, mental and spiritual qualities and our path.
We are on a spiritual path
Our path is the name we give to the parameters, limitations, and guidelines that
for us define the geography and the topography of a given physical lifetime in a
way that makes it possible for us, given our innate qualities, to develop spiritually
in an optimal way. We are always evolving on the spiritual level. Class is never
out. Like the thousand-pedaled lotus flower of Hinduism, life is always unfolding
in order to manifest every possibility. The Creation never ends.
In spite of the dizzying diversity and overflowing abundance of life, it is still
all one unified existence without borders or limits. The Universe is united; it
is one unified totality.
The Universe is whole; it is one united existence. You are whole too, and you are
complete: you are one. To become fully aware of this with one's whole consciousness
is a priceless gift which everyone seeks. It is the only route to peace. It is free
and we each have everything we require in order to attain it.
When we are weighted down with negative habits of mind we cannot function in a whole
and healthy way mentally or physically; we are handicapped by pain and confusion;
we cannot see, feel, sense, locate and connect with our natural spiritual path.
We lose our way. We feel divided; we feel that something is missing, that we are
incomplete. People feel empty, as if there were a hole in their being, which they
vainly attempt to fill with emotional and physical addictions and attachments of
all kinds. The result is spiritual pain, just as being out of balance and unhealthy
physically and mentally causes physical and mental pain. Being out of balance spiritually,
in turn, causes mental and physical imbalances, whose energies form closed loops
that perpetuate themselves and are hard to break.
When we lose our way we forget that we are whole, that we are connected to the divine,
and that we are on a spiritual path. We begin to feel divided from what we need
and want, and even from what we are. We begin to lose sight of ourselves. It is
then that we begin to believe in the possibility of
loss. We become unable to have
the spiritual experiences that are both the purpose of this lifetime and our divine
right. We are struggling and spinning our wheels instead of progressing optimally
along our spiritual pathway.
On our path we achieve our spiritual goals
The imbalance in our perception causes an imbalance in our experience. The resulting
spiritual, mental and physical pain is a symptom of that imbalance. Pain is a message,
but it is not the source of the message any more than your television is the source
of the program you're watching. Pain is meant as a signal and a prompt for us to
take action and resolve the problem at its source. Pain tells us that we need to
regain our balance, clear up our confusion, recover our sense of wholeness and reconnect
with our path. Or connect with our path for the first time.
Balance, health and wholeness is
our natural state of being-on every level. When
we are fully in balance-when our negative habits of Mind are cleared up-we can see,
feel, sense and recognize our path in life. David Kohlhagen is uniquely qualified to assist people in regaining their life's path. If
we had only one need in life it would be to evolve spiritually as the universe intended
for us to do. When we are on our path it is the only time we are in a position to
learn the spiritual lessons we came here to learn, it is the only time we are in
a position to achieve the spiritual goals we came here to achieve. When we achieve
these highest goals then we obtain our birthright: peace, power and contentment.
